A look around the league and the web that covers it. It's also important to note that the rotation order and starting nods aren't always listed in order of importance. That's for you, dear reader, to figure out.
C: Boston Globe. Bulls guard Ben Gordon will have an MRI today on his strained left hamstring.
PF: Basketball-Reference.com Blog. Dikembe Mutombo, NBA Hall of Famer?
SF: The Good Point. One blogger professes his undying love for Blazers guard Brandon Roy.
SG: Hardwood Paroxysm. Examining the Spurs de-evolution from a team game to a one-man TP show.
PG: Canis Hoopus. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, Mike Miller dyes his hair blonde.
6th: Sports Radio Interviews. Funny song spoof about the Suns.
7th: Indy Cornrows. Marquis Daniels may be not so easy to let go of in Indiana.
8th: Sports Media Watch. Sunday's classic drew a 10.5 rating in Boston and a 10.4 in Chicago.
9th: NBA Playoffs 2009. Check out this customized Los Angeles Lakers baby stroller.
10th: NY Post. Headline reads "Kobe Bryant called shots on Spike Lee film," but read the last 'graph.

Its the true thing that defines them both... Both are great Hall of Fame players. Lebron is clearly about his team which is why the day he got traded, in his inital interview he was asked, "What will make a successful rookie year by your definition?" And he replied, "Seeing our team get better everyday day, if I can see us get better as a team everyday this year, thats my biggest goal." Same thing he said since his baptism into this NBA is the same thing he lives by today... Everything he said in his 1st intervies has held true & he is the definition of a True Team Leader...

Kobe on the other hand, Refused to work out for teams & said the only team he would play for was the Los Angeles Lakers. Its also interesting that on draft day Hubie Brown said, "everyone says, he makes everyone better around him"... Thats has been one of the biggest lies ever told on television

Nice piece about man crushing Roy. Too bad the Blazers are choking and all of us with man crushes on this guy are doubly heartbroken now.

As for LeBron being a Hall of Famer, he undoubtedly has that potential if he can keep it going, but if the guy blew out his knee tomorrow and was done, the Hall would be a stretch for him. I hope that doesn't happen because he entertaining to watch.
We'll see how much he is really about his team when his first real big money contract is dropped in front of him.

So, that said, I'm a big fan of Antawn Jamison. Great guy on and off the court. Very intelligent. I'm a big fan of Brandon Roy for the same reasons, and this is partially why I'm such a huge Blazers fan right now--the team is really made up of good people for a change; that's new to Portland (at least, of late), but it's also rare in pro sports. (I hope Bayless keeps his head about him if he doesn't play much next year.) Chris Paul is the same way: a pretty unselfish, smart guy. You don't see him all inked up with CP3 tattoos, making a big show of his entrance into the gym, etc. (Don't get me wrong, I appreciate some good ink, but not when it's all about your own rise to greatness and self-anointment.
I need to close this window. WTF. Doesn't anyone work around here?

Travis - of course all players have an ego but like i told u i was a DIE-HARD Laker fan. So I've winessed kobe since birth. Kobe has always been me me me. When he 1st got arrested his 1st words were, I'm concerned abot my image. That says it all. Kobe was the ultimate diva & onl;y said he would play for the lakers. Its been his way sinc day 1. Ran Shaq & Phil out. Gunned shots up, he forced his way & his game on us all. Lebron is the exact opposite & he didnt care what team he went to. When you see his documentary you'll truly see how much of a team player he his. He came into a 17-55 team & he passed just as much to those scrubs as he does to his teammates now. Kobe went for self that year he averaged 35+. 2 different approaches. Kobe thinks the best way is for him to do it & lebron involves the team. You cant deny that.
SCS, Yeah lebron watches kobe & that shows how smart he is. Did you hear Magic when he said he watched ALL of Birds games & the Celtics? Because they were rivals. U watch the competition. Even with Lebron, he studied all the lakers plays kobe calls & when they guard each other after kobe shows the sign, lebron tells his teammates what the play is, BECAUSE Lebron is smart & scouts. Just like watching kobes moves, it would be beyond smart to study his tendencies & know what to look for when you defend him. You come off a little sick in the head if you honestly think kobe is better than Jordan. I refuse to have any part of that convo. AS far as the "barking dog" lol, maybe you've never seen micheal jordan. Im sure youre only about 12 anyway if you think kobe is better than jordan. No one talked more than Jordan & he even intimidated Payton with his talking... Lebron is also goin to carry that comedy torch that barkley passed to shaq & shaq is goin to pass to Lebron. Thank god for it because Kobe is beyond corny & im still waitin for his 1st funny joke.
The big picture is that Jordan played 13 years in chicago. I think Bird & magic played around the same. KG just broke down. Kobe is breakin down & isnt the same explosive person after this comin into the NBA str8 outta high school. Kobe forced shaq out & runied his own window. From 2000-present whouldve been the lakers window. But he ran shaq & out & that MVP finals D. Wade has should be his. after runnin them out they had to build another team on the fly fast & now that they have, lebron has bulit his team while the lakers pretty much bought or stole it with gasol. I feel like its karma. Think about what kobe couldve had if he wouldve been like D. Wade & just shut up & play. It wouldve fell on his shoulders by default instead of him forcing it... Thats the true story of kobe bryant...

Youve never seen kobe cussing his teammates out? Youve seen him showing up the ref? You're sayin its ok to talk about people/teammates ,not only period but in public 2? To see him throw elbows? Slap people wildy after jump shots?
"Kobe's image is the product of modern technology" NO. Kobe's image is a prodcut of a poor decision he made in colorado. And TRAVIS, thats hilarious that you want to look down on Lebron & wade when no athlete has a longer rap sheet than kobe. not Artest, not tyson, not barry bonds, not Terrell Owens. NO ONE. Thats crazy that you've excuse the rape trial, runnin teammates off, adultery, ball hogg label, all opf those things but yet you believe the 1st thing you hear regardign d. Wade. That shows the sign of an apologist when you wont even look into it for yourself but just lay blame elsewhere without the possiblility that kobe could be wrong. Don't blame lebron for having personal goals in life. I dont think it would be wrong at all if you said you wanted to be the 1st billionaire, but for some reason people have a problem with hearing it out of lebrons mouth. I have a crazy respect for him becuase not even kobe is under the same microscope he's been under since hogh school but he always says the rigth things. He's very well spoken even though he didnt go to college. For a long time everything i ever heard kobe say was something jordan said during an interview. You gotta respect that... Ive never seen a superstar as unselfish as lebron. Yes he does wan the spotlight, but he wants his team & his city to be there with him & theres nothing wrong with that at all. He's putting Akron Ohio on the map. You cant hate him for that...

And then, "Now, same goes for LeBron in that I DO like him off the court. He doesn't seem to be getting into too much trouble, and doesn't seem to be causing waves like some pro athletes. (Does he cheat on his partner? Probably, but I haven't heard that yet.) But I still don't like the way he carries himself: it's all about the LeBron Empire, all about him growing to be larger than life. Yes, he says the right things about team, but in the end, he knows it's going to go down as what LeBron does with HIS team. Unfortunately, this is the view of a lot of sports fans, and LeBron embodies it."
You read like a 6th grader.

Your "reasons" to hate Lebron are crazy... What lebron Empire are you talkin about? In the end it is goin to go down as what he does with that team so i dont know what u mean by that. Everyone is judged by how they lead their team... I mean how exactly do u want him to act? like john stockton?

With those pre-game antics, they have special handshakes with even the NBDL players which shows NO ONE IS BIGGER THAN ANYBODY... They feel like as much of the team as the starters. And in that last commercial, they fact that Lebron isn t even the main character says it all. He wants them to share the spotlight too. Thats the true definition of a team leader. Why do you think he was voted the player most NBA players want to play with? Why do you think Kobe was voted on the list most players DONT want to play with? Even Jordan didnt include & give his teammates the spotlight like lebron. You cant deny that... Peep this article...

I know no one can change your mind but just be objective... He really could have the biggest ego like Barry Bonds but he's as humble as derrick rose...
