KING, I do like LeBron a lot better than Kobe, for a million reasons, but don't think that LeBron isn't all about himself. Come on, man.

Your boy LeBron will be the first to admit that Kobe makes those around him better. LeBron himself feel constant pressure to step up his game when he plays Kobe head-to-head and he has said so publicly.
As for LeBron being a Hall of Famer, he undoubtedly has that potential if he can keep it going, but if the guy blew out his knee tomorrow and was done, the Hall would be a stretch for him. I hope that doesn't happen because he entertaining to watch.

Some good points, but here's my thing, MexcNguy: I DO look to judge these pro players on their personal lives, whatever we can find out about them. That's my approach. There are guys whose games I like but I don't like who they are off the court or field. And we DO get to know a little bit about their private lives by some of the stories that leak out--some of which hold weight, some of which are hollow. Nevertheless, you can get a good look at who some of these people are. That's why I can't support Kobe. I don't like who he is on or off the court. (Come to find out, he's actually a better person than his wife, based on the lawsuit filed by their former housekeeper; whew, what a mess, and Kobe tried to play peacekeeper.) That's why I can't support D-Wade. If you've followed closely enough, we've learned a lot about who he really is and the lifestyle he has (or had recently) in Florida. Now, same goes for LeBron in that I DO like him off the court. He doesn't seem to be getting into too much trouble, and doesn't seem to be causing waves like some pro athletes. (Does he cheat on his partner? Probably, but I haven't heard that yet.) But I still don't like the way he carries himself: it's all about the LeBron Empire, all about him growing to be larger than life. Yes, he says the right things about team, but in the end, he knows it's going to go down as what LeBron does with HIS team. Unfortunately, this is the view of a lot of sports fans, and LeBron embodies it.
So, that said, I'm a big fan of Antawn Jamison. Great guy on and off the court. Very intelligent. I'm a big fan of Brandon Roy for the same reasons, and this is partially why I'm such a huge Blazers fan right now--the team is really made up of good people for a change; that's new to Portland (at least, of late), but it's also rare in pro sports. (I hope Bayless keeps his head about him if he doesn't play much next year.) Chris Paul is the same way: a pretty unselfish, smart guy. You don't see him all inked up with CP3 tattoos, making a big show of his entrance into the gym, etc. (Don't get me wrong, I appreciate some good ink, but not when it's all about your own rise to greatness and self-anointment.

When he 1st got arrested his 1st words were, I'm concerned abot my image. That says it all. Kobe was the ultimate diva & onl;y said he would play for the lakers. Its been his way sinc day 1. Ran Shaq & Phil out. Gunned shots up, he forced his way & his game on us all. Lebron is the exact opposite & he didnt care what team he went to. When you see his documentary you'll truly see how much of a team player he his. He came into a 17-55 team & he passed just as much to those scrubs as he does to his teammates now. Kobe went for self that year he averaged 35+. 2 different approaches. Kobe thinks the best way is for him to do it & lebron involves the team. You cant deny that.

Even with Lebron, he studied all the lakers plays kobe calls & when they guard each other after kobe shows the sign, lebron tells his teammates what the play is, BECAUSE Lebron is smart & scouts. Just like watching kobes moves, it would be beyond smart to study his tendencies & know what to look for when you defend him.
