Ball Don't Lie - NBA

Needless to say, Rockets guard Aaron Brooks(notes) didn't think he'd score 34 points, destroy the Lakers and end up on the postgame interview podium when he got dressed at home for Game 4 on Sunday.

"I got kind of tricked a little bit," Brooks told Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle. "We all have these red jackets. One of the players (Chuck Hayes(notes)) wrote on the board it was mandatory to wear them. I figured if I had to wear a jacket like this, I was going to go all out and make it look real ridiculous."

After what he did to the Lakers' defense, he can wear whatever he wants.

    Red is for caution...
But maybe in this case, red is for passion... See the Lakers try so hard to suck...

Yeah, well, I'd wear whatever Chuck Hayes told me to wear too, for fear he'd shoot a free throw at my head or something

Those are team blazers that EVERY team gives to there players. they just never wear them.. like others said. he can wear where he wants after a game like that.. Great game.. and Brooks could be the new Tony parker of the West.

And with the spread at -8 Lakers, I was almost gonna place a bet on this one. Especially after learning Yao was out. Goes to show, gambling is not a good idea. Go rockets!!

Speaking as a Laker Fan, I was ashamed by the arrogance and lack of heart the Lakers showed in that game.
Aaron Brooks played with heart and a sense of urgency. If the Lakers are going to win anything, they better play with a sense of urgency no matter who they face just like the Cavaliers do.

On the topic of Tony parker, Brooks still has to get his feet under him, hes young. And I know what hes capable of at the rim i watched him dazzle the crowd at U of O for 3 years. As far as shooting goes hes way ahead of the curve compared to Tony parker his outside shooting has been better than TP's since about his Junior year in college. Its about the choices he makes on the floor and getting other players involved at this point which will decide if he takes a similar path to a player that shares glaring familiarities from central Texas.

After watching A. Brooks run laps around Steve Blake, we get to watch him run laps around the Laker guards. All I know is... his next contract is gonna be hefty! Great to see the little man shine among the so called 'trees' of the NBA!

Tony Parker??? Please! Nobody even likes Parker... well except Eva. I don't know what else to say but Lakers suck! & I'm a Lakers fan. I don't know who will get the blame if they lose this year. You certainly can't blame PJ for not calling TO & coming up with a counter game plan he is freaking overrated.

I bet that kid from the University of Washington wishes he would have shook Aarons hand now! Remember that? They got in a tussle in a game. Pushed each other & Brooks elbowed him in the jaw, or punched him...I forget, but either way it was not that bad & no damage, the kid never missed any playing time over the "hit". Brooks was suspended by the Pac-10 for a game or two. Brooks apologized in writing to the U of Washington, the kid and publicly to all us fans here in Eugene. When the Ducks & Huskies played next, Brooks approached the kid to shake his hand & the kid "chumped" out and refused Aarons handshake. Brooks showed class, and still is. I remember on draft day when some of the Rocket's fans were booing his selection...not anymore, huh? GO DUCKS!
