Man killed in Fresno trailer fire ID’d. Firefighters searching for cause

A 61-year-old man who died early Monday in a trailer fire west of Highway 99 was identified by the Fresno County Coroner as Joe Perales of Fresno.

Jacob McAffee, deputy fire chief at the North Central Fire District, said the fire was reported about 2 a.m. near a mobile home and RV park at Belmont and Marks avenues. The first engine responded to the fire in four minutes, and firefighters found a trailer with flames erupting through the roof.

Firefighters were able to control the blaze within ten minutes, and discovered the victim during a search. Perales had perished from the smoke and flames. The cause is under investigation.
