Cardinals prospect Tink Hence K's 10 in longest outing of pro career: Minor League Report

Looking to bounce back from his shortest outing of the minor league season, Cardinals prospect Tink Hence responded on Tuesday with perhaps the best of his professional career to this point in his development. The 21-year-old right-hander allowed one run over a career-high seven innings while striking out a career-high 10 batters in Double-A Springfield's 6-2 road win against Tulsa. Hence's 94 pitches in the start were the most he's thrown in a minor league game. A leadoff walk issued by Hence to begin the third inning was followed by a single and a sacrifice fly, which plated the only run Tulsa pushed across vs. the righty.
