Rochester Americans' season ends with 5-2 loss to Syracuse in Game 5

Mersch's fourth season with the Rochester Americans, and 11th in the American Hockey League, ended Friday night with a 5-2 loss in Game 5 of the Calder Cup Playoffs' North Division semifinal. The 31-year-old's third playoff run captaining the Buffalo Sabres' prospects was also over.
