Each week the Noise will guide desperate, deep-thinking owners into the dark corners of the waiver wire to mine a last-minute diamond. Turn on your helmet light and pack a pickaxe. We're digging for drop-jaw surprises owned in less than 10 percent or started in five percent and less of Yahoo! leagues.
Fantasy risk-takers who are unafraid of chasing rivers may want to gamble on the 22 percent-owned (five percent-started) change-of-pace back. The Bills, who have played inconsistently between the hashmarks, finally established a ground rhythm last week versus Cleveland. Buffalo right tackle Langston Walker was thrilled perseverance paid-off:
"We talk every week about getting the run game going. Sometimes situations don't allow us to run the ball as much as we'd like to, but (Monday) was that day when we were doing well. Consistently we were moving guys off the ball. We were exercising our will on the defensive linemen, unfortunately we just ran out of time."
The proof was in the pudding or in this case the Anchor's wing sauce. Beast Mode (Marshawn Lynch) logged his first 100-yard effort of the season, chipped in 10 catches for 58 and scored on a nifty 18-yard reception. Meanwhile Jackson compiled his finest ground effort of the season tallying 60 yards on 12 carries (5.0 YPC).
If Pierre Thomas' spectacular all-around totals last week in KC (144 total yards, 1 TD) are any indication what's to come for Buffalo's flexible tandem, their owners are holding pocket rockets.
Marred by the run all year, the Chiefs continue to lead the pack in fantasy points yielded to rushers. Over the past five weeks alone, they've surrendered 5.6 yards per carry, 202.2 total yards per game and nine scores to RBs. More importantly for Jackson's scoring potential, KC has also allowed 6.2 receptions per game to RBs since Week 7, the fourth-highest mark over that span.
The product from tiny Coe College (AKA Marv Levy-U), who has averaged 9.5 touches per contest, should net at least 12-15 grips this week. Due to Trent Edwards' recent abominable play, Turk Schonert will unleash the ground hounds to help open aerial avenues. Because of Jackson's dynamite versatility, plus burst and shiftiness in the open-field, he's a matchup nightmare for KC's decimated defense.
Week 12 Fearless Forecast: 12 carries, 64 rushing yards, 4 receptions, 26 receiving yards, 1 touchdown
