Michelle Wie posts Instagram videos of her painting

When Michelle Wie won the 2014 U.S. Women's Open at Pinehurst in June, the victory seemed to paint the 24-year-old's career in a whole new light. Long considered a player that would never fulfill her massive potential, the Stanford graduate finally broke through to win her first career major. Of course, Wie burst on to the golf scene as a 10-year-old when she became the youngest player to ever qualify for a USGA amateur championship. She backed that early promise up as a 13-year-old when she became the youngest player to win the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links. But after turning pro in 2005 (shortly before turning 16), Wie struggled for years under lofty expectations.

In the meantime, the talented golfer nicknamed "The Big Wiesy" (a play on four-time major champion Ernie Els' moniker "The Big Easy") found solace away from the course as an artist. And now, thanks to Instagram, we all get to see the Stanford graduate's skills as a painter. Wie posted a pair of clips showing off her latest work featuring skulls that say, "Dope." Some followers wondered if the paintings were available for purchase. Others inquired if she would donate for charity. Wie has yet to respond. Either way, the one-time phenom's hidden talent is now out in the open.
