Matt Kemp changes walk-up song to 'Black or White' in wake of Donald Sterling controversy

Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Matt Kemp went 1-for-4 from the plate in Sunday's 6-1 loss to the Colorado Rockies. But the statement he made prior to each at bat was more powerful than any home run. According to the team website, Kemp's normal "walk-up" music (the tune that plays over the stadium public address while a player strides to the batter's box) is either "All Gold Everything Remix" by Trinidad James, "RIP" by Young Jeezy or "Show Out" by Juicy J. Sunday's choice was "Black or White" by Michael Jackson. The pop star's early 90s hit includes the lyrics: "It don't matter if you're black or white." The symbolic routine change was part of the two-time All-Star's response to being brought up in the scandal involving Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling. And yes, that was a picture of Kemp with Sterling's ex-girlfriend, V. Stiviano, posted to her Instagram last August.

Silent protest

Moving to the team in the eye of the storm, the Clippers had a different response prior to Game 4 of their first-round playoff series with the Golden State Warriors. Team members wore their warm-up shirts inside out. It was a move that head coach Doc Rivers "wasn't thrilled about." The Warriors won 118-97 to even the series at two games apiece.

Thrilling finish

Finally in hockey, Nick Bonino scored the game-winning and series-clinching goal 2:47 into overtime as the Anaheim Ducks won Game 6 5-4 after erasing a two-goal deficit in the final 2:10 of regulation in their first-rounder against the Dallas Stars.
