James Harden shoots free throws on one foot

Yahoo Sports Minute

Houston Rockets guard James Harden has become — at least in the eyes of former Oklahoma City Thunder teammate Kevin Durantone of the NBA's top 10 players. Harden's rapid ascent up the list has come in spite of flopping and occasional lackadaisical defense. But one thing that can't be questioned is the 24-year-old's tenacity. That grit was on full display Sunday.

The 2012 Sixth Man of the Year twisted his ankle during a game against the Sacramento Kings in the third quarter while stepping on Ben McLemore's foot driving through traffic. The All-Star was down for a couple minutes but stayed in the game to make both free throws — lifting his left foot in the air while shooting — before exiting briefly. The move made Harden look like a flamingo. He finished with a team-high 25 points (along with those two memorable ones from the charity stripe) but the Rockets lost to the Kings 106-91.

Not so Big D

It may not have topped Week 14 of the NFL but there were plenty of storylines on Sunday — starting in Arlington. The Green Bay Packers matched the biggest comeback in franchise history (23 points) to beat the Dallas Cowboys 37-36.

His call

Finally in college football, Mack Brown reportedly could have stayed on as head coach at the University of Texas — but chose to resign anyway. The 62-year-old will coach his final game against Oregon in the Alamo Bowl Dec. 30.
