Andrew Cashner has hair that is truly striking

The San Diego Padres beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-1 in Sunday's home opener for the Friars. Starter Andrew Cashner got a no-decision — but the 27-year-old starter had already claimed victory of another kind: he's the owner of a truly striking hairstyle. The hurler's 'do (OK … let's just call it a mullet) became a popular topic of discussion on Twitter.

The entire look is reminiscent of an '80s wrestler — or maybe the UFC's Roy Nelson. Either way, the hurler who many baseball people consider an ace-in-waiting if he can just stay healthy is off to a good start in 2014 on several fronts. But he wasn't the only Padre whose unique look was noted on social media. Enter reliever Dale Thayer.

Point-center

Moving to the NBA (and a guy who knows a thing or two about hairstyles), Chicago Bulls big man Joakim Noah found D.J. Augustin for a sweet assist that was part of a 107-102 victory over the Boston Celtics. Noah finished with a game-high 13 dimes.

Final Four complete

Finally, thanks to Connecticut's upset over Michigan State and Kentucky's thrilling win over Michigan, the Final Four is set. The Huskies and Wildcats will join Florida and Wisconsin in North Texas.
