Mad King: RG3 struggles, Hurns rises to the occasion

Fantasy football is a week-to-week game. It doesn’t matter if you have someone who is going to do well three weeks from now. You need to win THIS week.

If you listened to me on “Fantasy Football Live” In Week 1, you probably won. Here’s why:

QB Robert Griffin III (WAS) – On Sunday morning,I told you to sit RG3 against the Houston Texans. He looked terrible in preseason, and he looked terrible in the Redskins season opener.

Griffin’s passing numbers were alright: 29-for-37 passing, 267 yards. But he was sacked three times, didn’t throw for any touchdowns and didn’t run for any touchdowns.

He has no confidence in what they’re doing and he’s very uncomfortable in that system.

You could’ve gotten more fantasy points from Derek Carr. That’s all I’m gonna say.

WR Allen Hurns, (JAX) – As I said on Sunday morning, Hurns was the guy to go with after Cecil Shorts III was ruled out with a hamstring injury and Justin Blackmon gone due to suspension.

Hurns - the rookie from Miami - didn't let me down, finishing with four receptions, 110 yards and two touchdowns.

Sure, he’s tied to Chad Henne – and maybe eventually Blake Bortles – in Jacksonville.

But that’s okay, because if you listened to me on the first Sunday fo the fantasy football season – you won your matchup.
