Game Point: Nadal upset in Shanghai, fails to make quarters

Game Point is Busted Racquet's roundup of news, facts and links from around the web.

Love -- Rafael Nadal was bounced 7-6, 6-3 in the third round of Shanghai by Florian Meyer. It was only the second time this season he's failed to advance to the quarterfinals of a tournament he entered. Though we'd love to assign larger meaning to this -- is he still reeling from his 6-0 third set loss to Andy Murray in Tokyo? are these the lingering effects of losing two straight Slam finals to Djokovic? -- the simplest explanation wins out: Rafa is tired and wants to go home and rest.

15 -- Other quarterfinalists include David Ferrer, Andy Roddick, Feliciano Lopez and Mr. October himself, Andy Murray.

30 -- Nadal won't be making an appearance on the grass at Queen's Club next year. The world No. 2 accepted one million euros to play in Halle, the preferred Wimbledon tuneup of Roger Federer. Reports suggest the decision was based on tax purposes. Not having to spend the entire summer in London (with Wimbledon and the Olympics running back-to-back) is an added bonus.

40 -- Today's most misleading headline of the day: "Stosur survives bird attack."

Game -- WTA players try to learn Mandarin. It ends predictably.
