Russia’s Vasili Berezutski takes a powerful David Luiz free kick to the face

As part of their schedule of friendlies designed to show the everyone how surprisingly underwhelming they are, World Cup hosts Brazil played Fabio Capello's Russia at Stamford Bridge on Monday. (Because why wouldn't these two teams play at Stamford Bridge?)

Neymar showed what happens when you expect the time and space usually offered in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A during an international game, Brazil displayed some comedy defending to concede a Viktor Fayzulin strike in the 73rd minute, and the Seleção's blushes were only saved with a 90th-minute equaliser from Fred.

Like most players in yellow shirts, Chelsea's David Luiz had a reasonably quiet game, with the notable exception of a 59th-minute free kick, which he blasted straight at the face of defender Vasili Berezutski. The 6'3" CSKA Moscow star — who often plays alongside identical twin brother Aleksei to form Russia's terrifying version of The Winklevii — was felled by the set piece, and did his best to pretend it didn't hurt like heck for the remainder of the game.
