NEC fans unfurl ‘We’re gonna win this, you’re not’ tifo, NEC lose derby in heartbreaking fashion

Despite have exactly no wins through seven matches this season, NEC supporters were apparently feeling rather confident going into the Gelderse derby against Vitesse. Confident enough to create a large banner featuring three skulls that read "We're gonna win this, you're not."

The visitors tried to stamp out that confidence nice and early by going up 1-0 in the 11th minute, but NEC equalized in the 33rd. Vitesse then went up 2-1 with a penalty in the 41st minute, but in the 85th minute, NEC equalized again.

Finally, as cosmic punishment for not going down quietly, Lucas Piazon scored his third goal in five matches for Vitesse (on loan from Chelsea) in the second minute of added time.

Vitesse won 3-2. NEC and their fans were understandably devastated as they extended their winless Eredivisie start to eight matches. And that tifo was probably burned.
