DTotD: Chilean defender Marko Biskupovic suffers horrific ankle break
Universidad Católica beat local Chilean Primera División rivals Santiago Wanderers 2-0 on Monday evening, but the result was overshadowed by a horrendous injury in the 24th minute.
Wanderers striker Marcos Pol tackled Católica defender Marko Biskupovic from behind, but his attempt to win the ball resulted in a very painful-looking snapped ankle for his opponent.
The Argentine striker was immediately sent off, while Biskupovic was flown by helicopter to a local hospital. According to local reports, an operation on the fractured left ankle was a success.
Thankfully, the club doctor does not expect that Biskupovic's career will be over, but his recovery will take at least four months.
