Kim Collins dropped from Olympic race by St. Kitts and Nevis, after meeting wife in hotel
LONDON — Kim Collins was the flag-bearer for St. Kitts and Nevis in the London Olympic Opening Ceremony.
But after a falling out with team officials, and an angry reaction by Collins on social media, it appears he won't have a chance to be the standard-bearer in the men's 100-meter championship.

Collins said he's been dropped from the race by St. Kitts and Nevis -- all because, according to the sprinter, he spent time with his wife in a London hotel.
Collins, 36, broke the news himself on Twitter and Facebook, sending out this message on the latter (via the Guardian):
"Hours before my 5th 100m olympic race, i now find out i cant run,all because i was in a hotel with my wife/coach. S.K.N.O.C REALLY? Are you freakig kiddin me!!!!!!!!""
On Twitter — his handle is @kimcollins100m, in case you were wondering if the race meant something to him — Collins unleashed this rant:
St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic officials wouldn't indicate if Collins violated team rules by meeting his wife, simply saying:
"The NOC of St Kitts and Nevis has not seen or heard from Kim Collins for the last three days," the NOC's general secretary Alphonso Bridgewater told reporters. "We are unaware of his whereabouts."

Collins won a world title in 2003 and was in his fifth Olympics. With the 100 meters packed with talent, he wasn't expected to medal — but he was expected to run.
But now it sounds like he's taking his suitcase of black spicy Caribbean sauce out of London.
