Catching up with London Mayor Boris Johnson on the Olympics, badminton cheating (VIDEO)

LONDON — On Wednesday, I was walking towards the ExCeL Arena for a day of fencing when I witnessed a line of cameras form in the middle of the sidewalk. Suddenly, a man who looked like an amalgamation of MSNBC's Chris Mathews and Jeff Daniel's character in "Dumb and Dumber" was surrounded by media and Olympic fans.

It was Boris Johnson, the hugely popular mayor of London, there for a few words about the progress of the Games, empty seats at events and, eventually, the match-throwing scandal in badminton:

I love this guy. And not just for the zip line thing that happened on the same day.
