Watch Juhani Tyrväinen’s rink-length stick ride goal celebration (VIDEO)

Juhani Tyrväinen’s, 22, is a winger in SM-liiga. But before he joined that league, we imagine he spent some time at Hogwarts, given the expert broom-riding abilities one must possess in order to accomplish a rink-length stick-riding celebration after a goal:

Oh, that Juhani Tyrväinen … quite the Jokerit.

(Groan)

This stick-ridin’ dirty was the eventual game-winning goal in his team’s 2-1 win over Ilves. Besides the amount of ice the celebration covers, we’re also fond of that spin at the end, like he’s backing into a parking space at a mall in Helsinki.

Heck, we’re fond of seeing the stick ride celebration in general, because it’s a bit of a lost art, what with your kayak-rowing Russians and all.

When properly executed, it’s a highlight of highlights.

Like Max Friberg’s stick-ride celebration at the 2011 world juniors was awesome, because he rode past his own bench and high-fived everyone:

There are the unexpected ones like Eric Godard:

And then there’s the granddaddy of them all:

So please, keep the spirit of the stick ride alive, scorers. Do it for Tiger.
