Five things to know about tonight's NHL games ...

1) Drought killers. The Maple Leafs won their first game in regulation since Nov. 7 last night against the Boston Bruins. Tonight, as they take on the Sabres, a win would give them back-to-back victories for the first time since Nov. 16-19.

2) How do Pens stop Alex Ovechkin? In 32 career regular season games against Pittsburgh, Ovechkin has scored 22 times. Rob Rossi consulted Brooks Orpik and Rob Scuderi on how to shut down The Great 8.

3) Neuvirth starts. Earlier this season, Michal Neuvirth went seven weeks between starts for the Capitals. Tonight, he gets his second start in four games. Neuvirth gets the nod because his numbers versus the Penguins (2-0-2, 1.72, 937%) are better than those of Braden Holtby's (0-4-0, 4.38, .857%).

4) Booth back. After sitting out the last three games due to an injury as well as being a healthy scratch, David Booth is expected to be re-inserted into the Canucks' lineup in place of Darren Archibald.

5) Hiller could take one step closer to history. Jonas Hiller has not lost since Dec. 3, giving him 14 straight wins. A win against the Canucks would put him two wins away from the all-time NHL record set by Gilles Gilbert of the Bruins in 1975-76. Hiller is currently a game-time decision as he was sick this morning.

Bold Prediction: Ducks down the Canucks 4-1, thanks to a pair of Corey Perry goals.
