No. 1 Star: Brianna Decker, Boston Pride

The forward star notched two goals and an assist in her second game for the Pride. Her first goal would stand as the game winner. She added a short-handed goal in the second period to put the Pride up 3-0. Her final point was an assist on the power play to secure that nail in the coffin of the New York Riveters, 7-1. Check out her shorty on a feed from Corinne Buie:

No. 2 Star: Zoe Hickel, Boston Pride

Hickel kicked off the scoring for the Pride just 55-seconds into the game on a feed from Hilary Knight. She beat that record when the third period began, scoring a goal just 12-seconds after the puck dropped. She followed the two goals up with an assist on Boston’s sixth goal of the game scored by Blake Bolden.

No. 3 Star: Kaleigh Fratkin, Connecticut Whale

The defenseman had a 3-point game for the Whale against the Buffalo Beauts. She assisted on Sam Faber’s goal to put the Whale ahead by one. She followed it up with a power play assist and an empty net goal to put the game away for the Whale, 5-2.

Honorable Mention: Meghan Duggan had an assist and this goal to put the Beauts on the board:

Kelley Steadman brought the Beauts within a goal before Connecticut's Molly Engram scored the game winner on the power play ... To start the third period, Boston scored 3 goals in 5:48; the last two goals came within 29-seconds of one another. Gabie Figueroa was the lone goal scorer for the Riveters.

Did You Know? Hilary Knight followed up her 2-goal opening night performance with a 2-assist game against New York. She's tied with teammate Brianna Decker for the points lead in the league.

Dishonorable Mention: The stats site for the NHWL is not ready for prime-time. Game scores are incorrect and there are various issues with box scores. Some of the stats had to be calculated by hand for this post. (There's a reason we're writers and not statisticians.) Hopefully by next weekend the bugs will have worked themselves out.
