Court orders hockey mom to stop harassing son's coaches, Detroit Red Wings

Who doesn't love crazy hockey parents? The only sport that beats them is ... well, nothing. Maybe soccer or tennis, but that's about it.

And we have another instance of a parent of anonymous sons, that are reportedly junior hockey stars, gone so crazy that a British Columbia judge ordered her to stop contacting her children's coaches and NHL officials.

From metronews.ca:

"The court was told that the mother has sent hundreds of emails to people involved in her sons’ hockey teams in the past and has caused commotions at their hockey games, including assaulting one son’s coach."

And ...

"The court was also told that the mother does not approve of the involvement of Mike Babcock, the coach of the Detroit Redwings Hockey team, in one son’s hockey and sent an e-mail earlier this year to 13 people at the Detroit Redwings NHL hockey team."

Joking about hockey aside, this appears to be somewhat of a serious matter for the overall mental health of the children.

The story notes that she also isn't allowed to have contact with her kids' "principals, teachers, and others involved in their education and school sports programs."

Either way, one has to wonder how this plays with Babcock's impending coaching free agency this summer? Or really, what those emails said about her issues with the Red Wings bench boss.
