Andreas Martinsen ejected for late hit on Ryan Garbutt (Video)
On Saturday afternoon, Andreas Martinsen of the Colorado Avalanche laid out Ryan Garbutt of the Anaheim Ducks with a hit that arrived significantly after Garbutt released the puck.
Garbutt fell to the ice hard and grabbed his face. The whistles blew. Josh Manson went after Martinsen, earning a roughing penalty. But Martinsen was given a game misconduct for the interference major, during which Cam Fowler scored on the power play to make it 1-0 for Anaheim.
It's Martinsen's third major penalty of the season.
Garbutt returned to the game, and was doing Ryan Garbutt things, earning a high-sticking penalty at 19:32 of the first period.
