Western Michigan coach P.J. Fleck takes the polar plunge for charity (VIDEO)
New Western Michigan coach P.J. Fleck, the nation's youngest head coach at 32 years old, hasn’t yet coached a game, but he’s already endeared himself to the Western Michigan community.
This weekend, Fleck and his wife Tracie took the polar plunge in Goldsworth Valey Pond in Kalamazoo, Mich., to help raise money for Special Olympics.
Coach Fleck did a full-out body sprawl into the cold waters and popped right back up, only to being running out of the water faster than his football players do on Saturday's. Fleck's wife Tracy, who is just two months removed from bringing in the newest baby bronco into the Fleck family gracefully jumped in as well. Tracy however was not as enthusiastic as her husband was jumping into the water.
Fleck also had the words “Row the Boat” written on his chest. The phrase is the mantra Fleck has been preaching to his players and staff since he took the post in December.
Not gonna lie, it makes me cold just looking at this video. Most new coaches go skydiving or throw out the first pitch at a baseball game. Fleck is already becoming a trendsetter by taking the plunge for a good cause.
