Virginia Tech to wear Frank Beamer helmet decals for rest of season (Photos)

Virginia Tech came up with a cool way to honor Frank Beamer as he finishes his final season as the Hokies’ head coach.

The program announced on social media Wednesday night that special decals have been added to the back of the team's helmets for the rest of the 2015 season.

The decal features seven stars to represent the four ACC titles and three Big East titles Virginia Tech has won with Beamer as head coach. Additionally, the decal reflects a photo taken of Beamer addressing the crowd after the Hokies finished off an undefeated season in 1999.

Coming off a bye week, the 4-5 Hokies will debut the decals when they face Georgia Tech on the road on Thursday night. After the Georgia Tech game, Virginia Tech plays North Carolina in Beamer's final home game on Nov. 21 before finishing out the regular season on the road at Virginia on Nov. 28.

Tech needs to win two of those three games to become bowl eligible and continue the program’s streak of appearing in the postseason every season since 1993. Beamer, in his 29th season at the helm, has a 234-120-2 record at Virginia Tech.
