Tim Brando leaves CBS after 18 years with the network

The SEC on CBS will have a new studio host in 2014.

Tim Brando, the long-time host of the pregame and halftime shows for CBS's Saturday afternoon SEC broadcasts, has parted ways with the network after 18 years.

"After 18 years at CBS and 16 years as the Host of College Football Today, I am leaving CBS Sports," Brando posted to his radio show's Facebook page. "I will no longer be the Host of College Football Today or provide play by play services for their golf, football or basketball coverage. This news comes on the heels of my announcement that the Tim Brando Show will not be returning to CBS Sports Network. It was truly a privilege to cover The SEC on CBS, The Road to the Final Four, and more recently The Masters for Masters.com and The PGA and Champions Tour. It was an honor working there. I am looking forward to new opportunities and making many exciting new memories covering sports."

Sports Business Daily reported both sides said the move was a mutual decision.

His weekday radio show had been simulcast on CBS Sports Network, however it was replaced at the beginning of the year by a simulcast of "Boomer and Carton" from New York. His radio show will continue to be broadcast on SiriusXM's channel 91.

Where could Brando be heading next? Well, he's a Louisiana native and Louisiana-Monroe grad. Plus, he's been synonymous with CBS' SEC telecasts for many years. And the conference is launching its own network this fall. He's a natural fit if there's mutual interest.
