TCU WR Josh Doctson to miss Alamo Bowl

TCU wide receiver Josh Doctson won't be available for the Horned Frogs' Alamo Bowl matchup with Oregon.

Doctson has missed the final two games of the season with a wrist injury he suffered against Oklahoma State. He played at less than full strength in TCU's win over Kansas, where he had one catch for 12 yards.

Doctson was reportedly set to get the pins removed from his left wrist this week. The team had hoped he could return for the bowl game.

A senior, Doctson finishes the season with 79 catches for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was one of the best receivers in the Big 12 over the course of the season along with Baylor's Corey Coleman. Coincidentally, Coleman is also set to miss his team's bowl game. Coleman won't play in the Russell Athletic Bowl against North Carolina because of a hernia.

Both receivers will be early picks in May's NFL draft.

Boykin is still recovering from a high ankle sprain he suffered against Kansas. He missed the team's one-point loss to Oklahoma and returned in the double-overtime season-ending win over Baylor.

The Alamo Bowl kicks off on Jan. 2.
