Steve Spurrier takes jabs at ESPN because it highlighted the other USC’s pro day

South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier is usually good for a quip or two in the offseason and on Wednesday he did not disappoint.

The Gamecocks held their pro day Wednesday – an event that included a rousing performance from running back Marcus Lattimore – and Spurrier was a little miffed that ESPN chose to attend the pro day of the USC on the West Coast instead of his.

Spurrier complaining in the offseason is as predictable as a him not suiting star defensive player Jadeveon Clowney up for the spring game. He even took a little jab at Clemson by telling reporters that other football staffs had come in to learn about the Gamecocks' system, but added: "We don't brag about it like some people."

Early this week, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney told media the Atlanta Falcons had come to Clemson to learn about the zone read and how to defend it.

Spurrier’s cranky comments are sure starting early this year. Perhaps that means an eventful offseason is on the horizon.
