Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D - Nevada) was taking questions at the Center for American Progress Monday morning when he was asked a question by a Southern Cal student. When the Trojan identified his school, Reid quickly cut in with "I hope you have a better football team than last year, that was a disaster."

For those with short memories, last year's USC team started the season number one in the country and ended it unranked, with a loss to 6-7 Georgia Tech in the Sun Bowl.

Reid later added "That proves you can't buy college football players," which I guess is in reference to the Reggie Bush scandal? Not really sure. Reid must be feeling pretty cocky after last season, considering his alma mater, the Utah State Aggies, went 11-2.
