Rutgers does not officially join the Big Ten until July 1, but the athletic department is already getting prepared for Big Ten football.
The official Scarlet Knights’ Twitter account tweeted a photo out Monday of a new addition painted on to the playing field at High Point Solutions Stadium – the Big Ten logo.

It’s kind of a strange sight right now, but the Scarlet Knights, along with Maryland, will move the Big Ten footprint eastward starting next year. Both schools will play in the Big Ten East Division along with Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Penn State.
For a Rutgers squad who won just three conference games as a member of the American Athletic Conference last year, the transition might be difficult.
