Oregon State football shows off its dunking skills during halftime of Saturday’s basketball game (VIDEO)

Oregon State’s 60-59 loss to Cal on Saturday was a disappointment, but the halftime show wasn’t.

Six members of the Oregon State football team participated in a dunk contest (thanks to @Coach_Riley for tweeting out the video). And while not all of the dunks went in – only two of the six found the bottom of the net – the athletic ability shown by the participants was quite impressive.

Junior-to-be receiver Obum Gwacham and junior-to-be safety Ryan Murphy were the only two players to make their dunks and both were pretty entertaining. Gwacham took a running start from the other side of the court, took off from just inside the free throw line and threw it down. Murphy did an around-the-world dunk.

In the end, judges preferred Gwacham’s effort, which was a bit of a shame because I thought Murphy’s dunk was pretty darn good.

Even coach Mike Riley was impressed by Gwacham's effort and threw down a challenge to receiver Brandin Cooks to start preparing for next year's contest.

The halftime was just as entertaining as the game, but with a better result for the Beavers, especially since no one was injured.
