MSU’s Worthy gives Russell Wilson an unfriendly welcome to the Big Ten

Just a few hours after news leaked that former N.C. State quarterback Russell Wilson was transferring to Wisconsin — and the subsequent anointment of the Badgers as 2011 Big Ten champions — Michigan State defensive tackle Jerel Worthy gave Wilson his own welcome via Twitter.

"This guys on espn think that russell wilson gona change something at wisconsin. It still don't matter cause they gotta come in spartan stadium. Homecoming he will see how the big ten gets down"

Worthy, a three-year starter and a Playboy preseason All-American, doesn't seem to make idle threats. He led the Spartans a year ago with four sacks and had 40 tackles, including eight for loss.

And there's definitely some bad blood between Michigan State and Wisconsin. Last season, the two teams and Ohio State tied for the Big Ten title. Ohio State went on to play in the Sugar Bowl and even though Michigan State defeated Wisconsin, the Badgers went on to play in the Rose Bowl, leaving the Spartans to get crushed by Alabama in the Capital One Bowl.

Michigan State and Wisconsin meet on Oct. 22 in a primetime game at Spartan Stadium — the Spartans' homecoming.
