Indiana WR Issac Griffith released from the hospital

Homestead High School's Isaac Griffith

Indiana receiver Isaac Griffith was discharged from a hospital in Sarasota, Fla., after being there nearly a week following a swimming accident on spring break.

Griffith had been hospitalized since March 17 after he had been caught in a rip current at Siesta Beach in Florida and nearly drowned.

His friend, Mitch McCune, said the two were pulled out past the buoys and that he grabbed Griffith and pulled him to shore. McCune performed CPR until emergency crews arrived.

Griffith was initially placed in a medically induced coma and on a ventilator to help his lungs heal.
