Indiana dismisses Allen; he allegedly sold drugs to informant

Antonio Allen is no longer a member of Indiana's football team.

The safety was dismissed on Tuesday after he was arrested on multiple drug charges including dealing heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine. According to the Indianapolis Star, he was arrested while leaving Indiana's Memorial Stadium.

Per the police report, police had probable cause to arrest Allen after he sold drugs to an informant.

From the report:

On 06/16/2015, I along with Troopers from the Indiana State Police executed a search warrant at [redacted] E. 19th Street in Bloomington Indiana. The search warrant was issued in reference to two controlled buys I had conducted at this residence. The first controlled buy consisted of Antonio Allen selling a confident informant between 5 and 10 grams of heroin, and approximately 1 gram of crystal methamphetamine. The second buy consisted of Allen selling between 5 and 10 grams of crystal methamphetamine to a confidential informant.

The report also detailed what was allegedly found in his apartment via a search. Included in the items were 47 grams of cocaine and 13 grams of rock heroin and a handgun. The Star also reported he was released from the Monroe County Jail on a $75,000 surety bond and $1,000 cash bond.

Allen was suspended from the team before he was dismissed.

He was Indiana's leading tackler in 2014 as a sophomore with 74 tackles. He was a four-star recruit in the class of 2013.
