Former Texas quarterback Vince Young is being sued by a woman who claims he assaulted and pulled her hair her in a car following a 2014 NCAA Tournament game, according to TMZ Sports.

Tiffany Cayo told the website Young was “extremely intoxicated” when he reached over and pulled her hair. The lawsuit does not say whether Young was driving at the time. Cayo states she incurred medical expenses and lost wages because of the incident and is seeking $250,000 in damages.

However, Young’s lawyers say the suit has no merit and that Cayo is just trying to extract money from their client.

In a statement sent to the Austin American Statesman, Young's lawyers said Cayo made the allegation privately a year ago. Young’s attorneys interviewed witnesses and determined the allegation had no merit.

“Mr. Young’s counsel presented the results of the investigation to Ms. Cayo’s counsel in early 2015,” Young’s attorney said in a statement to the Austin American-Statesman. “Now, two years after this alleged incident and over a year after being informed that there was clear and unequivocal witness testimony contradicting Ms. Cayo’s allegations, Ms. Cayo and her counsel have brought this frivolous lawsuit in a clear attempt to extract money from Mr. Young.”

Young’s attorney said the former quarterback, who now works for the University of Texas, would file a defamation suit against Cayo.
