Former Ole Miss linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche is reportedly back in the hospital.

More than a month after Nkemdiche was hospitalized for unspecified reasons, he was reportedly “found unresponsive” and hospitalized on Monday morning.

From The Clarion-Ledger:

According to a press release issued by the Ridgeland Police Department, officers responded to 711 Lake Harbor Drive at 9:31 Monday morning for reports of an "unresponsive male." The call was deemed a "medical aid call," and Ridgeland Fire Department was called to the scene to assist, according to the release.

Nkemdiche was then transported to University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Tuesday morning, UMMC said there was no patient listed under Nkemdiche's name.

Ridgeland (Miss.) Police said there is no investigation of criminal activity related to the incident.

Nkemdiche, who is no longer a member of the Rebels football team, was hospitalized in Oxford in November and did not play in the team’s final two regular season games. Nkemdiche’s condition at that time was not considered to be life-threatening.

“His well-being is all that matters right now, and we are making sure he receives the highest level of medical care,” Nkemdiche’s parents and Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze said in a statement released through Ole Miss athletics on Nov. 19. “We thank the Ole Miss family for their concern and encouragement, and we appreciate everyone respecting the family’s privacy during this time.”

A redshirt senior, Nkemdiche had 53 tackles in 10 games played this season.

His brother, standout defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche, was recently charged with possession of marijuana after falling from a hotel window in Atlanta. Robert is suspended for the Sugar Bowl and has already announced his intent to declare for the NFL draft.
