BCS Championship Live Blog: Leave it all on the blog tonight

It is freezing wherever you are right now, but as always it's perfection at the Rose Bowl, God's own backdrop for blockbuster affairs on the order of Alabama-Texas since the beginning of creation. (Or since 1902. Same thing at this point.) The last time we were under the lights in Pasadena for a championship showdown between two undefeated powerhouses, it was a classic shootout for the ages. Even if it's the chart-topping defenses that rule this time, we can only be so lucky again.

What: Championship live blog. All comments welcome, especially the irreverent variety, and especially if they're directed at veteran play-by-play man Brent Musburger. (We kid because we love, Brent.)
When: Blog will kick simultaneously with the game broadcast, slated for 8 p.m. Eastern, though that likely does not account for flyovers, anthems and other oh-so-essential big game pageantry.
Who: You and all your rowdy friends. Come loud, proud and bearing at least one good story about Alabama, Texas, Rose Bowls, other bowl games you've attended, steers, elephants, bears or close encounters with Nick Saban and/or Sergio Kindle's vehicle.
How: Hit "Watch Now," enter comments into the available box and do your part to accelerate the slow, agonizing death of conventional journalism.
Why: Because lobbing snarky barbs at earnest adolescents never gets old, especially when it's your last chance for nine months. Savor it, sports fans: The final hours of the 2009 season are flying by. Football!
