Alabama tight end Kurt Frietag appears to be in hot water after police found 112 grams of marijuana and nearly $4,700 in cash in his campus dorm room.

Yes, you read that correctly. One-hundred twelve grams. Or, roughly 1/4 of a pound.

According to Al.com, agents from the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force were “tipped off” about a drug transaction involving the sophomore.

The deal was monitored last Tuesday and agents confronted Freitag, according to a complaint filed Monday. After being read his Miranda rights, Freitag allowed agents to search his room in Bryant Hall, where “112 grams of marijuana and $4,661 in cash” was found.

The money and drugs were seized but court records do not reflect if the 6-foot-4, 255-pound Freitag was charged with a crime.

"It's an ongoing investigation and we are not going to comment on it at this time," said Tuscaloosa Police Department spokesman Sgt. Brent Blankley, per TideSports.com.

When reached by Al.com on Monday afternoon, a university spokesperson said that the school would “look into the incident.”

Freitag, a native of Buford, Ga., is in his third season with the program. As a redshirt freshman in 2013, he played in two games, catching one pass for 11 yards against Georgia State. He also made an appearance against Arkansas. The former three-star recruit has not seen the field this year.
