AJ McCarron wears purple in support of high school student killed in car crash
Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron is honoring Olivia Mills, a high school student who died following a car crash last week, and he doesn’t even know her.
McCarron took a photo of himself in a purple bow tie and purple ribbon to support Mills, who had spent the week in a medically-induced coma before passing Saturday morning.
McCarron also dedicated his game against Ole Miss to her.

Mills, a senior from Sipsey Valley High School in Tuscaloosa County, was on her way home from church when she lost control of her car and crashed. Mills was a standout in high school and a well-respected member of her church.
A Facebook page called “Prayers for Olivia Mills” has more than 40,000 likes.
McCarron is known as one of the all-around good guys in college football and this is yet another example of that. For him to recognize Mills simply through word-of-mouth is pretty amazing. It’s hard not to root for a guy like that.
