Nik Stauskas’ holiday message to fans included an amazing shooting display

The holiday greetings most families send each year include a posed photo, an update on how the past few months have gone and best wishes heading into the new year.

Michigan guard Nik Stauskas got a little more creative.

In the above YouTube clip, Stauskas wishes viewers Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year on Monday night and follows that up by filming himself shooting 50 3-pointers on his family's backyard court in Mississauga, Ontario. Incredibly, Stauskas drains 45 of those, pretty incredible indoors let alone outside in 25-degree weather.

Perhaps nobody should be too surprised by Stauskas' shooting prowess considering the way he has performed this season. The Big Ten newcomer of the year candidate has scored 13.4 points per game so far this season thanks largely to his 55.7 percent 3-point shooting, best in the nation among players attempting at least five shots per game from behind the arc.

Stauskas has benefited from the defensive attention Michigan's opponents have paid to Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. But as his Christmas Eve video shows, leave Stauskas open and he'll make you pay.
