Cox Cable inexplicably switches Omaha customers to Pac-12 during Creighton game

Creighton fans in Omaha were able to watch most of the Bluejays' Big East tournament semifinal win over Xavier on Friday until Cox Cable and Fox Sports 1 switched over to coverage of UCLA-Stanford semifinal in the Pac-12 Conference.

Obviously this didn't go over well among Bluejays fans with the Creighton game still in doubt when the change was made and they shared their frustrations on Twitter. Here are a few examples.

Fox Sports later apologized for the mistake while simultaneously blaming it on Cox Cable. The Omaha World Herald published this explanation from Fox Sports.

“Our plan was to take the state of California to the start of the Stanford-UCLA game on Fox Sports 1 if the Xavier-Creighton game ran long. When the switch was made, it seems that Cox Cable in Omaha inadvertently switched to the Pac-12 game as well. We don’t know why or how, and we’re investigating. In order to get Omaha back to the Xavier-Creighton game as quickly as possible, we had to take all those seeing Stanford-UCLA back to the remainder of Xavier-Creighton. We apologize to all those affected.”
