Like a pop singer, a theater actor or an awards show host, Marquette coach Buzz Williams underwent a costume change during Tuesday night's 67-46 rout of Seton Hall.

He emerged from the locker room before the game clad in a dark gray pinstripe suit. He ditched the jacket and a yellow and blue patterned tie before halftime. And by the start of the second half, the blue button-down shirt was gone too, replaced by an unusually casual grey v-neck sweater.

Why the many outfits? Apparently the cause was a first-half wardrobe malfunction that occurred when Williams tried to help guard Vander Blue off the court near the Marquette bench.

"Vander dove for a loose ball," Williams explained to Marquette Athletics. "When I pulled Vander up, it pulled my tie and busted my shirt."

If Williams is the superstitious sort, the sweater might make another appearance Saturday when Marquette visits Villanova.

After entering halftime tied with Seton Hall, the Golden Eagles outscored the Pirates 40-19 in the second half to move a half game ahead of Syracuse and Georgetown in the race for the Big East title. Blue and forward Davante Gardner sparked a 22-1 run early in the second half to break the game open for Marquette.
