Duquesne standouts combine for must-see off-the-glass alley-oop

Duquesne is 8-5 with losses to New Hampshire and Robert Morris and is likely to finish in the bottom third of the Atlantic 10. Fordham is 7-7 with losses to Sacred Heart, Monmouth and Siena and would be lucky to escape last place in the Atlantic 10.

It takes a lot for anything from a game between the Dukes and Rams to be nationally relevant, but Duquesne guard Derrick Colter and forward Ovie Soko managed to combine for a highlight worthy of the spotlight.

With just under eight minutes left in the first half and Duquesne leading by five, Colter caught a pass in transition and threw an alley-oop off the backboard. A trailing Soko finished the play with an emphatic two-handed slam, easily the most memorable two points of his 29-point night.

Impressive as the dunk was, what's more remarkable is the guts it took for Colter to attempt the pass. Had it resulted in a turnover in the first half of a winnable league game, you can bet he'd have been on the bench.

Soko, a transfer from UAB, has been a bright spot for Duquesne all season, averaging 18.1 points per and 8.8 rebounds per game. Any more dunks like that, and he'll probably begin to receive some more attention.
