Pierre Garcon would welcome DeSean Jackson to Redksins WR corps

Add Pierre Garçon to the list of Redskins who want DeSean Jackson to sign in Washington.

“It’s definitely a good thing,” Garçon told CSNWashington Monday night, referring to Jackson’s visit. “He definitely could help us. We definitely need all the help we can get.”

Jackson, released by the Eagles on Friday, dined with members of the Redskins’ coaching staff Monday in Northern Virginia. He later hung out with Garçon, DeAngelo Hall and rapper Wale in downtown Washington.

On Tuesday morning, Jackson was scheduled to visit Redskins Park for more meetings with coaches and team officials.

Garçon hopes Jackson doesn’t leave until he has signed on the dotted line.

“Hopefully, he signs with us,” Garçon said.

Garçon added: “He makes plays. Whenever he gets the ball he can take it to the house – and that’s what we need. Those plays are unaccounted for on the defensive side and you never know they’re going to happen. It gives a team momentum and definitely helps us.”

Last season, Garçon enjoyed a career year, hauling in a franchise record for receptions in a single season with 113. But he’s not concerned about potentially sharing the spotlight—and the ball.

“It would make everyone’s life easier, especially on offense,” Garçon said of Jackson’s potential presence. “When you have playmakers all around, it definitely makes the offense more of a threat.”
