Video: D-Wade teaches Evan Turner that veterans never forget
Waaaaaaay back in late October, Philadelphia 76ers rookie Evan Turner put a charge into the Sixer faithful with a nice little shake-and-splash on one of the league's top guns, Miami Heat All-Star Dwyane Wade. It was a neat little play, the first NBA highlight for the Ohio State product. But as the season progressed and Turner struggled to both find a home in Doug Collins' rotation and live up to the expectations that came with being the No. 2 overall draft pick, it was largely forgotten.
Except, it seems, by Dwyane Wade.
Whoops, yikes, yoink, d'oh, oof and boing. A veritable '60s "Batman" worth of bad-times sound effects for Mr. Turner.
Revenge, it appears, is a dish best served cold and in front of a national television audience during a 20-plus point playoff blowout. Welcome to the big leagues, rook.
To his credit, Turner had a nice game off the Sixer bench, scoring 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting to go with six rebounds. Unfortunately, his teammates had a horrific night, hitting just 21 of 69 field goal attempts (30.4 percent) and finding themselves unable to stop Heat forwards Chris Bosh (21 points on 13 shots and 11 rebounds) and LeBron James (29 points on 19 shots, seven rebounds, six assists and one monster alley-oop finish).
Miami dominated from the opening tip, beating Philadelphia by a score of 94-73 to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven first-round Eastern Conference playoff series. The scene shifts to the City of Brotherly Love for Game 3 on Thursday.
