Will Stojnic be a sacrificial lamb for Velasquez?
When Denis Stojnic steps into the Octagon against Cain Velasquez on Saturday, it won't only be his first time fighting in the UFC, it will be his first fight outside of Europe. He has strong striking skills, but will he be able to handle Velasquez's ground game?
Velasquez is an up-and-comer in the UFC heavyweight division, and the UFC has been known to throw sacrificial lambs at the fighters they want to see succeed. With his limited experience, just six professional fights, Stojnic might be a stepping stone for Velasquez to propel his way into the upper echelon on heavyweights.
