LeBron James apparently finds inspiration in Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor certainly has a way with words.
Whether you’re inspired by the things he says, like his raucous Irish faithful, or praying he gets knocked out in his next fight, one thing is undeniable: there is no one quite like McGregor these days.
On Wednesday, the same day McGregor was hijacking a UFC 197 press conference in Las Vegas, one of the world’s most elite athletes was drawing inspiration from the UFC featherweight champion’s words.
From one ‘King’ to another, apparently.
Two-time NBA champion and current Cleveland Cavalier LeBron James shared an Instagram photo featuring an inspirational quote from the ‘Notorious’ Irishman, reading: “There’s no talent here, this is hard work. This is an obsession. Talent does not exist, we are all equals as human beings. You could be anyone if you put in the time. You will reach the top, and that’s that. I am not talented, I am obsessed.”
Following the post, James commented, “I’m obsessed!! Straight up! #StriveForGreatness”
McGregor is often criticized for his over-the-top antics and booming persona, but if the world’s most recognizable athlete is drawing inspiration from his words…well, he must be doing something right.
