    A new and improved Pat Barry knocks out Christian Morecraft at UFC on FX 1

    Barry walks away from his victim (Tracy Lee for Yahoo! Sports)Pat Barry broke a two-fight losing skid with a first-round knockout of Christian Morecraft at UFC on FX 1 in Nashville on Friday. The path to Barry's knockout win was paved with a much better ground game from Barry.

    As the fight started, Morecraft caught Barry's kick, took Barry down, and immediately tried for a rear naked choke. Morecraft wasn't in good position for the choke, and Barry defended it, then pushed Morecraft off of him. After they returned to their feet, Barry landed stiff jabs that damaged Morecraft's face. Morecraft got a takedown and briefly moved into full mount before getting an armbar.

    Barry showed greatly improved submission defense, working his way out of the submission. When they returned to their feet, Barry threw a massive left hook and knocked Morecraft to the ground. He finished with three strikes on the ground before referee Herb Dean stepped in and stopped the fight at 3:38 in the first round.

    This is the best Barry has looked in a year. He was on a two-fight losing streak, but this Barry finally had a ground game and submission defense.

    "I'm sorry. That took me nine choked out experiences to make that happen," Barry said after the bout.

      Dickhouse Riley the name is Allen, now Al. But I guess tools like you never figure it out. I have always posted under this name and have not changed it. I know I cannot be as cool as a tool that uses Dickhouse as his user name, but hey a man can dream, no?

      Despite the win, Barry definitely needs to drop down to LHW. He's too small to be a heavyweight, has at least 20 pounds of fat that he could drop.

      You've got to love Barry. Does the guy ever have a boring fight? No! Win or lose, the guy shows up to fight and it's always memorable. He's one bad#$%$ cheesehead!

      Don't know if anyone else noticed, but Barry must be taking styling tips from the "situation" He looked like a fat mike sorentino or whatever that scumbags name is. No offense Pat, your a decent fighter, go on a diet for a while bump down to 205, you to short to hang at HW bud. You can KO guys like that bum all day, but that ain't getting you no where, cause you lose everytime Joe gives you a fight with a top 20.

        Samuel, I think he just likes to be able to eat what he wants, can't say I blame him, who wants to eat like a bird or nearly kill yourself like Alves and these other guys with pills that destroy kidney's and who knows what else. Once again it leaves the question...should there be a 206-230 division? Yes, IMO. That way guys like Pat will have better chances. BTW, Glad to talk MMA with someone thats not trashing posts, rare thing around here. Thanks.

You obvious do not know your history fool. "Joe" is Nutcracker, always is and always has been. Some reject like you stole his name so he changed it to Joe Namath, and then to Joe. The fool who stole his name lost a bet and relinquished the name. Hence Nutcracker got his name back. "Original Nutcracker." Doc was Sandman. Doc was censored to death and became The Sandman, who also was censored to death. Thus, Doghouse Riley was born. Meyer is Alan, the little buttercup who was used like a crack hoe's pipe.       Is it me or did it seem like there was added crowd noise at times?? There wasnt that many in attendance but it sounded like 50,000 people. Very good fight card though IMO.

      Ya the only thing sick about that fight was who he was fighting, and it was a main card fight. Both are out of top 20 I woulda rather watched Kimbo Slice boxing a couch potato!

      Controlled Det. Currently I am in my villa in Bali, but it does say Jakarta by my name, not sure why. Maybe you think Jakarta is China, which in that case shows your general ignorance. FX has 1/10th the household penetration that Spike does. End of story. Big Network deal, until Fox said welcome to my little friend FX.
