Fedor is not a top 10 fighter

The statement is outlandish yet The Sun doesn't have any mention of unbeatable heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko (28-1) on its pound-for-pound list. The British tabloid has a unique top 10 that mixes all fighters, boxers and mixed martial artists. Fedor, who hasn't lost since 2001, didn't make the cut but that may be explained by the fact that The Sun only recognizes the UFC/WEC when it comes to mixed martial artists.

The list is made to look ridiculous with Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, a fighter Fedor beat two times, at No. 6. The MMA fighters that made the list are Miguel Torres (No. 10), Georges St. Pierre (No. 7), Nogueira (No. 6), B.J. Penn (No. 4) and Anderson Silva (No. 2). The GSP and BJP ratings are interesting considering St. Pierre is already a sizable -160 favorite in Las Vegas for their UFC 94 fight.

Even worse than the Fedor snub is inactive fighter Floyd Mayweather Jr. listed at No. 2. His list of opponents at 147 lbs. is less impressive than Fedor's parade of bums (Tim Sylvia is not really a bum) over the last two years.

Frankly, a boxing/MMA list is a little far-fetched with the two styles being so different. That said, my list wouldn't have Manny Pacquiao as No. 1 pound-for-pound.

I'd go with:

1. Fedor
2. Pacquiao
3. Silva

4. St. Pierre
5. Juan Manuel Marquez
6. Joe Calzaghe
7. Penn
8. Nogueira
9. Israel Vazquez
10. Paul Williams
