LSU’s next great receiver is already setting records at the prep level

Meet Trey Quinn. If you aren't already acquainted with the Barbe High (Lake Charles, La.) wide receiver, now might be a good time to take notice, because he's now the state's all-time leading receiver.

As reported by the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Quinn reached 5,881 yards over the course of his career during Friday's 42-14 victory against Sulphur High (Sulphur, La.). That yardage total moved him 13 yards in front of former Evangel Christian Academy (Shreveport, La.) wide receiver Abram Booty's career total.

Quinn is a senior at Barbe, but still has multiple games ahead of him to continue racking up serious yardage. The Barbe star sits second all-time nationally in career receiving yards behind Missouri star Dorial Green-Beckham and now trails Green-Beckham by 475 yards.

While it might take some doing to catch Green-Beckham, Quinn has a legitimate shot at the national record for most receptions. Former Christian Academy (Knoxville, Tenn.) star Davis Howell holds that national mark with 358; Quinn has 327.

Times-Picayune reporter Andrew Lopez indicated that his estimations held that Quinn could make a run at Green-Beckham's mark if Barbe reaches the regional playoffs. Such a run would give him ample time to mount a challenge on Howell's record as well.

When he's done with it all, Quinn will head to Baton Rouge. That's when LSU fans hope the fun will keep on rolling.
