Tiger Woods commits to Quail Hollow

Charlotte, get ready for the Tiger Woods Sideshow, because the top golfer in the game is heading to your event in two weeks.

Woods has committed to playing in the Quail Hollow Championship, April 29-May 2, making it his first non-major since the scandals hit the presses.

We have all wondered for a while how the crowds at a non-Augusta would react, and it appears we will get to see it sooner than later. It also gives us a glimpse of how Woods will be approaching the rest of his 2010 schedule.

On Monday, Tiger applied to play in the U.S. Open, so it appears Quail Hollow will be a warm-up for the second major championship of the year. It also means we could see him three times before Pebble Beach, with the other two coming at the Players and the Memorial.

How has Woods played at the event over the years? He won it in 2007 and finished fourth last season.
